With 2016 over, we look ahead to what musical talent 2017 can offer, and with the masses of acts out there in the industry there is plenty for us to get excited about. Throughout January, ICM will be highlighting one new band each day and showing just why they should be on your music radar. Our 4th band is High Tyde.
High Tyde kicked off the year by claiming ICM Song Of The Week with ‘Dark Love’.
‘Dark Love’ was completely different from the likes of ‘Do What You Want’ and ‘Feeling The Vibes’, the track has a heavier guitar sound and ferocious drum beats. Deliciously dirty, it flirts with glam indie pop. Lined with a subtle groove of rhythmic guitars and a dark sultry undertone, it’s ruthless in its riling and could hospitalise with killer hooks.
Within 2016 they also released their latest EP,’Real’. ‘Real’ stays true to the band’s roots, soaked in indie-rock goodness with a consistent thumping beat coupled with screeching guitar riffs and powerful vocals. The track, ‘Speak’, is an intriguing amalgamation of High Tyde’s previous styles and past work, yet it demonstrates how far the band has come and how much more they have to offer in 2017.
With multiple EP’s under their belt, could 2017 be the year when we see a High Tyde debut LP?
High Tyde have been around the nation in the past 12 months touring and gigging gaining a well-deserved fan base.
2017 is sure to see the true core of High Tyde and their infinite energy surge onto more stages across the country, including festival appearences.
We know that High Tyde are going to have a great 2017 as they almost made 2016 an award winning triumph. They were nominees for ICMAward Track Of The Year with ‘Dark Love’, however were nipped to the post by Indie peers, Sundara Karma.
That being said, 2016 was nowhere near a disappointment. So, let’s see what 2017 has in store for our favourite Brighton 4-piece, High Tyde!
We will be announcing a new band every day throughout the entirety of January and the ICM long list will be announced on February 1st.
