Track Of The Year Nomination #6 – High Tyde

One of the main things that gets us music fans through our day to day routine is having an impeccable music playlist to hand. No matter what the occasion we all like to tailor a playlist to our liking. However, without the vital resource of new music this simply wouldn’t be possible. Our sound of 2016 is one of the best we’ve had in recent years and owe a huge thank you to the musical talent supplying us with awesome tracks!

Brighton-based High Tyde have been performing all across the country this year gaining momentum leading up to what should soon be an album release. We would however like to take the spotlight and shine it on one their early single releases from way back in January. ‘Dark Love’ featured as one of our prestigious Song Of The Week’s and cemented themselves on our radar for good.

‘Dark Love’ is a completely different from the likes of ‘Do What You Want’ and ‘Feeling The Vibes’, the track is heavier guitar sound and ferocious drum beats. Deliciously dirty, it flirts with glam indie pop. Lined with a subtle groove of rhythmic guitars and a dark sultry undertone, it’s ruthless in its riling and could hospitalise with killer hooks.

Throughout the year we have managed to fit a Tramlines Festival exclusive interview, A Stoke-on-Trent Sugarmill based interview, two live performance reviews, track reviews and also a review of their latest EP. Dark Love’ below, have a listen.

The winner of each category will announced on 3oth of December.
