He’s Back!
Every year for the past 3 years i’ve said those exact words when it comes to Dan Croll, but 2017 is certainly shaping up to be true!
So, Dan Croll, you may have heard of him. He released his debut album, ‘Sweet Disarray’ back in 2014 with hit tracks, ‘In/Out’, ‘Home’ and ‘Compliment your Soul’ among others. Truly, it was banger…
Dan Croll has always stuck with me in my mind though, because that debut album came out just as I was getting into music properly. I was hooked on the ‘Sweet Dissaray’ album for months and over the summer too due to its pop nature and uplifting mood. Since having the album on constant repeat I have been crying out for more Dan Croll material.
Every year we’ve seen the same thing… a single. In 2015 he released ‘One Of Us’. In 2016 he released ‘Swim’ and in early 2017 he released ‘Away From Today’. A single a year, I suppose I can deal with that.
Earlier this year however in March, Dan announced that his sophomore album, ‘Emerging Adulthood’ was to be released on 21st of July, so we at ICM have just been sat here patiently waiting for the next single. This is where it gets interesting…
‘Bad Boy’ was released today and it truly is the homage to what pretty much every teenager encounters as they emerge into adulthood.
“‘Bad Boy’ was about what seemed to be a common phase of teenage life where either the girls wanted the stereotypical bad boy, or the guys tried to become the stereotypical bad boy, and how at the end of the day it all came down to a lack in confidence and usually ended in tears,” Croll says.
Dan remains true to the exact reasons I have for liking his music. His ability to combine genres. His singer-songwriter roots which are so evident on his debut album along with incorporating the pop element and also indie feel through guitar riffs echoing in the background. Creating a groovy beat through the drums and bass shows he’s a very well rounded artist in terms of song writing.

Along with the release of ‘Bad Boy’, Dan Croll also has a list of festival appearances and a North American tour. Tickets of which were released on general sale earlier today.
