2017 Ones To Watch #8 – The Magic Gang

The Magic Gang

With 2016 over, we look ahead to what musical talent 2017 can offer, and with the masses of acts out there in the industry there is plenty for us to get excited about. Throughout January, ICM will be highlighting one new band each day and showing just why they should be on your music radar. Our 8th band is The Magic Gang.

The Magic Gang are one of those bands that are on the cusp of grasping the indie music industry with both hands and making it their own. For some unknown reason they haven’t quite managed to cement their name into everyones knowledge yet that doesn’t mean it is impossible. We at ICM believe that 2017 could very well be the year for The Magic Gang.

The Magic gang have managed to amass over 11,000 Facebook likes, 47,250 monthly Spotify listeners and also 8,000 Twitter followers. Which to us, is undeservedly low.

The Magic Gang released a plethora of tracks within 2016 culminating to two EP’s. ‘The Magic Gang EP’ along with ‘The Second EP From’. The lead single from ‘The Second EP From’ was ‘All This Way’.

It features joyous backing vocals, and skipping light-touches of spare guitar. The Magic Gang’s chorus rocks, “All I really wanna know, is how I got all this way on my own,”, concluding with, “I’m sorry that we fell in love.”

Overall it is a special brew by combining multi-hued harmonies and limb-possessing melodies which have a very similar resemblance to their previous single ‘Jasmine’.

2017 could very well see The Magic Gang releasing that all important debut album and finally receiving the recognition they deserve.

We will be announcing a new band every day throughout the entirety of January and the ICM long list will be announced on February 1st.
