Wavves share new track No Shade

Wavves

Is Surf Punk dead? No. Has it evolved? Yes, and Wavves are at the forefront of its semi-revival and evolution.

We at ICM did a review for their last track ‘Million Enemies and mere days after we did, they released their brand new song ‘No Shade’. Now the fifth track on the forthcoming album ‘You’re Welcome’, ‘No Shade’ takes us briefly back to the old style of Wavves with surf punk tones and a riff to accompany it as the song kicks in.

This track feels like a developed but still just as beautifully raw style for the band almost hitting more towards the sound of their album ‘King of the Beach’. The experimental nature of Nathan Williams can be seen brilliantly in this track and the record itself is looking to be brilliant so far.

We’re all here for experimental surf punk. Keep it coming Wavves.

You’re Welcome is out 19/05 on Ghost Ramp
