Track Of The Year Nomination #7 – Sundara Karma

Sundara Karma She Said

One of the main things that get us music fans through our day to day routine is having an impeccable music playlist to hand. No matter what the occasion we all like to tailor a playlist to our liking. However, without the vital resource of new music, this simply wouldn’t be possible. Our sound of 2016 is one of the best we’ve had in recent years and owe a huge thank you to the musical talent supplying us with awesome tracks!

Reading-based four piece, Sundara Karma have released 2 EPs had three headline tours in 2016, performing up and down the UK and have performed at some of the best festivals across the UK such as Reading and Leeds, Glastonbury and Truck as well as releasing a bunch of singles all leading towards their highly anticipated debut album, ‘Youth Is Only Ever Fun In Retrospect’ and Tour with Two Door Cinema Club and their own headline tour.

The first single to be showcased was ‘She Said’, released back in the summer. ‘She Said’, holds the catchy, upbeat tone which is the foundation of earlier single ‘Flame’.This track is also reminiscent of 90s Britpop; a great chorus, a storyline and a drop of melancholy. ‘She Said’ is a story about how nights start with wanting to go out dancing. It encompasses lively guitar and gentle percussion into the heart of the track. Sundara Karma translates to ‘Beautiful Karma’ and this is what they have produced. This track simultaneously calms you down but also urges you to move your arms and head.

‘Youth Is Only Ever Fun In Retrospect’ is out 6th January.

The winner of each category will be announced on 3oth of December.
