Puppet Rebellion share ‘Slave’ ahead of debut album

Puppet Rebellion

As we all know, gig season is upon us, and what better an introduction than by the release of Puppet Rebellion’s new track ‘Slave’, which will be shortly followed by their debut album in a couple of months’ time.

The intro to ‘Slave’ seems to radiate some recognizably Kasabian vibes, which immediately sets up a high marker for the rest of the song to meet; the classic chanting to a charming blend of electric chords provokes a rock vibe, accompanied by some mellow harmonizing which simulates a more indie aspect.

Among my first thoughts when hearing this track was how some of the phrasing reminded me of the Dandy Warhols (you know ‘Bohemian Like You’, the only song anyone seems to have heard by them), which automatically gave me a little soft spot for the tune. The presence of the similarities between Puppet Rebellion and some top British bands is already placing them ahead of the game, allowing them to establish themselves as a band capable of producing eclectic yet anthemic tunes.

Throughout the track there is a perfect contrast in the blend of bass and drums, further inspiring the classic indie rock zeal which is somewhat an unattainable target for new bands edging their way into the music industry, so the fact that Puppet Rebellion has already cracked it is pretty impressive, you should expect big things from these lads.

Speaking of big things, their debut album is set to be released this November; they are launching the album at a gig in Manchester (home turf for the band), on the 11th, so pick up a ticket if you get a chance; it seems these guys are capable of big things, wouldn’t want to miss out on an early gig!
