Only Shadows release electrifying new single ‘Stay Close to Me’

Only Shadows

Only Shadows have made a bold comeback since their grand return and now they are back at it again with ‘Stay Close to Me’.

Since taking a year off to record new material, this is the third instalment from the Nuneaton quartet with producer Bruce Rintoul (Twin Atlantic, Fatherson).

Only Shadows have been laying down some heavier beats in recent releases as the band look to change the type of music they create. ‘Stay Close to Me’ is punchy and energetic. You will certainly be letting loose at one of their gigs.

Following the success of previous singles ‘Fight Milk‘ and ‘Escape‘, this is the bands first single of 2018. You might have had a bit of a shock when listening to one (or all) of these tracks have spicey pop undertones, feisty vocals and electrifying guitar riffs – it’s a shock full of electric energy.

The song has a particularly strong place in the bands heart as singer Nick Ashby explains: “This song means a lot to us, it’s a song about finding the light in the dark. It’s close to home, but you know we mean it”

The band have previously opened for The Amazons, Fatherson, Prides & Saint Raymond and have had plenty of support from Spotify in recent months adding their previous single ‘Escape’ and ‘Stay Close to Me’ to the ‘New Music Friday’ playlist. BBC Introducing in Birmingham have also championed the band as one of the ‘most exciting guitar bands in the country’

The indie rock quintet are also set to announce a new run of tour dates after kicking off 2018 with shows in London, Brighton & Birmingham. Keep your eyes peeled!
