Bradford-based indie rock quartet Glass Mountain released their new single ‘Cowboy Song’ and a B-side cover of Roxy Music’s ‘More Than This’.
The band consists of Harry Hanson – vocals and guitar, Lewis Johnson-Kellett – guitar, William Sand – Bass and Keyboard and Johnathan Newell – drums.
The tracks come as a follow up to their critically acclaimed ‘Glacial EP’ released last year, which picked up a lot of attention throughout the music community.
‘Cowboy Song’ starts off with a dark and cold intro from William on the Keyboard before heading into a beautiful atmospheric rock banger. Glass Mountain have hit the nail on the head with this one. I think there sounds like a combination of Coldplay and a bit of JAWS, which combined works like clockwork.
Speaking about the track to The Skinny Hanson said; “Cowboy Song is about release and being youthful.
“Lyrically, the mood of the first EP was very much about over-thinking and worry, and that wasn’t really a conscious decision at the time; I only realised after we’d finished the EP, but it’s still a relatable feeling.
“When Cowboy Song needed lyrics, the way I felt about things had changed. Everything felt less heavy and more positive, and I wanted to convey that feeling in a track without getting cheesy or too sentimental.”
