Amber Run have revealed their new track ‘Fickle Game’, Leading up to their second album, ‘For A Moment, I Was Lost’ on February 10th. The song is described as both “chilling and refreshing”, this song is perfect for a chilled playlist. It really is an amazing song; it perfectly shows how dynamic indie rock is as a genre. The song is slow paced and relaxed, yet retains a catchy melody and memorable lyrics that make it more than just a typical slow BPM song.
Amber run’s successful debut album, ‘5AM’ was an album that you could just stick on and forget about the rest of the world while you sunk into a world of relaxed vocals and a pleasing beat.
A follow up to ‘5AM’, the band says ‘For A Moment I Was Lost’ is defined by “fear, anger, and most crucially, progress”. It’s that progress that we see here with Fickle Game, the lead single from the band’s forthcoming second album.
The album was born after a ‘eureka’ moment in Pembrokeshire, where all four members decided to retreat after parting ways with their label and drummer. In this same remote spot years before, the first songs for ‘5AM’ were written. However this time, music wasn’t even on the agenda. “We laughed solidly for four days, came back and started work,” says frontman Joe Keogh. “It was a clean slate.” They knew that they were going to make another record, regardless of label involvement. You can see this in ‘Fickle Game’, if relaxing in Pembrokeshire had a soundtrack – it would be this.
