Monico Blonde share new single ‘When Girls Cry’

Monico Blonde

We’ve been a big fan of Monico Blonde and they’ve blown us away again with their new single ‘When Girls Cry’.

Having discovered the Cardiff quartet back in 2016 they were a hidden gem. Fast forward two years and they’re hitting the ground running with BBC and Radio X exposure and just played a huge sold-out show at Clwb Ifor Bach last month.

‘When Girls Cry’ combines Johnny Marr riffs with a chorus to make Fleetwood Mac blush, all wrapped in the irresistible pop shine of producer Gethin Pearson (Charli XCX, Kele Okereke, To Kill A King).

The accompanying music video, directed by Hamish Kay (The Hunna, JUDAS, Kovic), strikes to the heart of modern love in the social media age.

The band are currently competing in Pirate Prodigy, selected from thousands of artists by experts including John Dawkins (Various Artists Management) and Mike Walsh (Head of Music, Radio X).

Monico Blonde have two shows coming up at Nambucca (London) and Actress and Bishop (Birmingham) in June. For more info click here.
