Joe Carnwath shares new single ‘What Are You Laughing At?

Joe Carnwath

English raised musician Joe Carnwath started his career off busking on the streets of London until one man, the owner of a small Swedish live-music club took Carnwath on board and was booked to play two nights at Cafe Katalin, Uppsala.

For his first solo album ‘Big Heads Small Minds’, due to be released in late 2018, Joe has teamed up with producer Johan Carlberg, with live drums coming courtesy of the internationally renowned Brady Blade (Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle, Indigo Girls).

Regardless of the Swedish and American collaborators, it is clearly 80’s British pop has left its mark on ‘What Are You Laughing At?’as it radiates an edginess and driving beat akin to Echo and the Bunnymen.

Despite the nods and reverence to the genre, the songwriting of Joe Carnwath is clearly fresh and his voice is stunning, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg so stick around for the album release.
