Get Inuit are back at it with new single, ‘All My Friends’, ahead of their headline show at Dingwalls. ‘All My Friends’, follows on from Barbiturates, released back in January, furthering their support from Radio 1, with the track getting regular play on Mista Jam and Huw Stephens‘ shows. Kent foursome have consistently produced banger after banger, with previous releases ‘On and On’ plus ‘Pro Procrastinator’.
‘All My Friends’ is a track which will become a fans favourite.
This track is their strongest to date. ‘Barbiturates’ seemed to showcase their diversity, which they have available in their repertoire but ‘All My Friends’ returns to the sound we all know and love.
Get Inuit are known for their messy, chaotic pop and this is what ‘All My Friends’ is and is another addition to their already blistering and energetic set. The track uses the sound of raucous pop as a facade to hide the message which turns to lashing out at loved ones.
“I wrote it as a sort of anti-enjoyment song to compete with all of the age orientated pop music I hear in mainstream music. I wanted to use lyrics that would alienate people that live inside their bubbles whilst constantly trying to rationalise all of the safe decisions they made to get to that point.” Jamie Glass explains.
Glass is becoming more and more known for his unconventional attitude and extravagance and screams an exciting new style of popstar.
Jamie expands “Although the message is clear throughout the song – I wanted to appear a little hypocritical and a little childish. I leaned towards using squeamish metaphors to make a mockery of the point I was making.”
On 25th May, Get Inuit take to Dingwalls’ Stage following a sell-out show at The Lexington in January.
