Blushes release new single – ‘Honey’

Blushes

With perfect timing, indie pop/rock band Blushes burst into the year with their brand new single ‘Honey’. After just being featured in ICM’s One’s To Watch here’s your perfect opportunity to fall in love with them.

The Aylesbury group mentioned the new track to us before in our chat with them at their gig at The Dublin Castle in Camden and its finally here. From first listen I was blown away by ‘Honey’. It falls under Blushes’ more pop/upbeat style which has given them so much well deserved attention. ‘Honey’ hits upon that feeling everyone has had at some point, someone that’s totally irresistible to the point your rose tinted glasses make you blind to their true nature. Relatable as hell honestly.

Opening with a fresh drum intro, the song quickly dives into this amazing blend of dreampop and RnB. The lead guitar riff repeating to hook you in while the bass comes from Tiff’s synth keeping you entirely invested. The song has so many layers production wise, its a huge concoction of sounds blending to create an incredible song from distorted guitars to live and ‘booming’ drums.

Speaking about the track the band said: “Overall, we like to think the song straddles many territories, but it maintains both a rock and funky edge.

“Our goal was to have fun with the track, and to take it to a point where its a progression of our sound.

“We feel we’ve done that, and we hope you take something similar away.”

Overall, ‘Honey’ is an amazing addition to an already fantastic discography. Let this track guide you into an incredible 2018, for you and for Blushes.
