2018 Ones To Watch #20 – Palm Honey

Palm Honey

Palm honey are a Reading formed quartet who are taking the psych-rock scene by storm.

The band is made up of Joseph Mumford (Vocals), Harrison Clark (Guitar/Keyboard), Sebastian Bowden (Bass) and Ayden Spiller (Drums). They all met studying at Reading College and bonded over their passion for music and as a result, ended up playing together and forming Palm Honey.

To date, they have released six singles and one EP. Thier music takes you an immersive journey packed full of funk-laden riffs and dreamy vocals. The ability to produce tracks with such an original sound at such an early point in their career is what makes them stand out from all the other up and coming acts that are emerging at the moment.

2017 was a great year that saw them play an impressive string of live shows including a slot at Leeds festival and co-headlining with the brilliant Vinyl staircase. They also had a few tracks pressed on wax, even working with the brilliant ‘Flying Vinyl’ to release their two-part single ‘Starving hysterical naked’.

They have put out some really interesting abstract visuals to accompany their strikingly unique tracks, their most viewed ‘ You Stole My Blackout’ has a fantastic retro vibe to it that works really well with the energy of both the track and the band themselves.

They are yet to announce any 2018 releases or shows, however, a debut album release is definitely on the table and speculation is building amongst their rapidly growing fanbase.

These guys are carving out their own place in the scene and are ready to take over in 2018. Watch this space…
