Glass Peaks share new single Home

Kentish trio, Glass Peaks have only been around for just over a year. Yet they have already have built up a huge reputation for their self-proclaimed “melancholic alt-pop” and have been tipped as one of the South-east’s hottest talents. Previous singles (Your Eyes, 2016 and Speak and Spell, 2017) have been picked up huge support from BBC Radio 1, Absolute Radio, 6Music and BBC Introducing.

Glass Peaks dropped their second single of 2017, ‘Home’ and it’s their best release to date, haunting vocals combined with backing vocals which added to the brooding aura. One thing, I love about Glass Peaks tracks is their ability to create a thrilling atmosphere and unpredictability, all their tracks lead to one moment, one big twist which really sums up their moody attitude. ‘Home’ shows the band’s maturity in their sound and they are becoming a band who everyone is watching.

The track combines their influences of Joy Division, The Smiths, Foals and The Maccabees to create a track which opens into a gorgeous and energetic song, with moving lyrics and charged, syncopated guitar licks creating a raucous, eruptive sound fuelled by pounding guitars and driving bass lines. Glass Peaks are starting to stamp their own mark on the scene and are captivating listeners with the first note.

Glass Peaks have just finished a headline tour including stops in Glasgow, London, Brighton and St Albans. As well as performing at City Sound Project in Canterbury, this weekend with Abbie MacCarthy (BBC Introducing in Kent)
