The Tin Pigeons hail from Uppingham and play a brand of catchy, melodic indie-folk. Earlier this month, they released a new single ‘Home’, which encapsulates their penchant for funky grooves and beautiful harmonies.
The band spent 2016 playing festivals up and down the country including Boardmasters, Reading and Leeds, and Secret Garden Party. Additionally, they released a debut EP, ‘Sparks’ which combined infectious guitar lines with some delicious harmonies, wrapped up in a refreshing summery production. The title track helped increase their audience, as it was made BBC Introducing Track of the Week on BBC Radio 1.
‘Home’ builds on the bands potential superbly, combining a youthful vibrancy with top quality song writing. Everything about it is stunning, from the summery sing-along harmonies to the creative drumming which drives the rhythm forward. The vocal production, like most of The Tin Pigeons’ songs remains as strong as ever while still retaining a raw energy.
The instrumentation is unique and accessible; you’ll fall in love with the folk-tinged guitars as they meander their way into your head, while the production gives all the instruments space to breathe.
With 2017 proving to be an exciting year for The Tin Pigeons, they will finish the year with a show at The Cookie in Leicester on Friday 22nd December. The band are currently unsigned, but ‘Home’ will surely see them gain further recognition and a brighter future ahead of them in 2018.
