Black Honey release new track ‘Dig’

Black Honey

Brighton based four-piece Black Honey are back after their 8-month break with their new single ‘Dig’. They premiered the track on Huw Stephens BBC Radio 1 show after teasing fans with cryptic social media posts.

The track opens with a gloomy guitar that continues to follow through, this is complemented by a bit of bass thrown in there that gives the track an overwhelming sense of darkness. The build of the instrumentals in the bridge is just fantastic before you get hit with the headbop worthy chorus, however, the best part of this track comes courtesy of a striking grunge inspired guitar solo that happens just after the midpoint and just takes the song to the next level and showcases guitarist Chris’s ability.

The lyrics within this song are reflective of a relationship that has met a bitter end with lead singer Izzy’s vocals sounding slightly hollow yet alluring. Izzy has one of those voices that really suits these slightly darker songs perfectly, for example in their previous tracks ‘Headspin’ and ‘Mocking swing’.

The video for the track is pretty impressive as well, it’s a homage to the bands favourite Tarantino movies.

The band are currently on tour with ‘Royal Blood’ alongside ‘At the drive-in’! Here is where you can catch them over the next month:
