Best International Act Nomination #2 – Fil Bo Riva

Fil Bo Riva

Being a UK website, it would be very easy to miss such talent that is only a plane away. But due to dedication we want to highlight the significance that international music makes to the industry as a whole. It’s very likely that bands will often make an impact into other countries and create a following across all parts of the globe. Here’s a band that we would love to come to the UK some time.

Fil Bo Riva came to our attention after a quick introduction and suggestion. Since then we have been hooked on the ‘If You’re Right, It’s Alright’ EP. Songs such as ‘Like Eye Did’ and ‘Killer Queen’ offer a certain contemplative and forceful yet contrasting and howling soft swoop throughout.

Fil Bo Riva has certainly taken many cultures into account with his music. The 24 year old half-Italian grew up in the roman suburbs and spent his youth in Ireland. His first song was an homage to Pete Doherty and he decamped to Berlin in 2012 after his first visit to the city.

We cannot wait for some more music from Fil Bo Riva as we feel he definitely has potential. Especially with the backing of a fully kitted-out band and supportive fans, just give it time and before you know it, he may well be a household name!

The winner of each category will announced on 3oth of December.
