Best International Act Nomination #4 – Hinds

Hinds

Being a UK website, it would be very easy to miss such talent that is only a plane away. But due to dedication we want to highlight the significance that international music makes to the industry as a whole. It’s very likely that bands will often make an impact into other countries and create a following across all parts of the globe. Here’s a band that we would love to come to the UK sometime.

Hailing from Spain, Hinds, the Madrid indie-rock band composed of Carlotta Cosials (vocals, guitar), Ana Perrote (vocals, guitar), Ade Martin (bass, backing vocals) and Amber Grimbergen (drums).  Hinds have taken inspiration from the growing UK indie scene with modern-day influences such as Mac Demarco, as well as older influences being The Pastels and Velvet Underground are clear throughout their music.

Hinds released their second album ‘Leave me Alone’ in January with songs such as ‘Warts’, with rough vocals and powerful guitar and ‘Fat Calmed Kiddos’, having a messy vibe whilst encompassing 50s styled instrumentals.

Their previous albums have shown potential to become a household name and are giving us another reason to be excited for 2017 and the music it will produce. Hinds also have a fast growing fan base which will add to the atmosphere created by their live performance.

The winner of each category will announced on 3oth of December.
