Hailing from Leeds, Team Picture share their new single ‘(I Have a) Little Secret’, shedding some light on what is to be expected for the rest of 2018.
They have already kicked off 2018 with a bang at The Old Blue Last for DIY’s ‘Hello 2018’ gig and the new single only adds more excitement to the six-piece.
The new track progresses from their previous singles, whilst maintaining the same old knack for impressive hooks and experimentation. A new year, new influences; Team Picture have incorporated elements of The Cure, Black Marble and Lower Dens propelling the band’s fresh sound
Speaking about the track, guitarist Josh says; “We really resonate with the sincerity and enduring relevance of pop music from the 70s and 80s, and the ability of so many bands from this period to transcend genre and remain influential.
“We wanted to celebrate that, and maybe shed some of the grungier associations we’ve previously collected.” He continues, “Okay, how 80s do we want to go? and at some point we decided to go completely balls-to-the-wall and make it as joyous as possible.”
Since forming back in 2016, Team Picture have earned recognition from BBC Introducing and 6Music as well as support from hosts such as, Huw Stephens, Steve Lamacq and Tom Robinsons. The band have also recently supported The Orielles and bagged a set at Manchester’s Neighbourhood Festival. Team Picture have much more to offer in 2018, with a full UK headline tour and festival dates to be announced soon. Keep your eyes peeled.
