Streets of Roya releases new single ‘Prisoner’

Streets of Roya

A blend of alternative pop and electronica, Streets of Roya shares new single ‘Prisoner’.

The project of mysterious songwriter Michael Wespi also returns with a new B-side ‘Change’ as the Swiss artist sets to take on Europe.

Having already generated huge praise on his debut single ‘All Eyes On Me’ generated 250,000 streams on Spotify and got added to numerous notable playlists such as New Music Friday Germany and Feel good Indie, as well as Apple Music’s ‘Best of the Week’. Furthermore, he managed to score a synch in one of Germany’s most watched TV shows ‘Berlin Tag & Nacht’ on RTL2.

Lead-single ‘Prisoner’ is a song of fragility, inviting you to explore your inner self. Wespi states that the lyrical content of the song should be interpreted by everyone individually. He doesn’t want to manipulate or encroach into people’s imagination by divulging his take on the track.

As a bonus, Streets of Roya are going to release a B-side called ‘Change’, which demonstrates the musical spectrum of the project in more detail. Pulsating at times, Streets of Roya’s energetic yet intimate sound is based around the playing with contrasts, allowing the songs plenty of room for movement and surprises.
