Kent duo SKIES have finally returned with their latest electro rock single ‘Green’.
Starting off the track Alie Cotter vocals sound smooth and crystal clear like that of MisterWives lead singer Mandy Lee. Leading with a charismatic presence and counterpart Jericho Tozer (drums/vocals) bounding with enthusiasm and flawless musicianship.
Produced by Oz Craggs (Mallory Knox, Feed The Rhino, Neck Deep) and captures SKIES’ ability to blend their trademark cocktail of effervescent pop hooks with melancholy subject matter. A balance that, in theory, probably shouldn’t work, but is once again executed to perfection.
Of the track, the band says; “The song was originally about being single and learning how to be alright with that. Over the last year, the lyrics have also come to represent our views towards being in a completely independent band too!”
“As an independent band, it’s been great also working alongside a lot of independent businesses on the journey – from our producers and video directors, to clothing companies and local creative organisations. You get a real sense that we’re all in it together and all building something together.”
