Poor Traits deliver irresistible indie rock-pop

Canadian trio Poor Traits have been utilising their time in lockdown by creating a new EP for later this year.
New single ‘Stay Up’ marks the end of a four-year hiatus for the alternative/indie pop-rock outfit based in Vancouver.
They’ve been on the circuit since 2014 and write, record, mix and produce all their own tracks thanks to bassist Kyle Thomas’s knowledge of sound production.
Comprised of members Alex Badger (Vocals), Taylor Roberds (Guitar) and Kyle, Poor Traits share their latest effort ‘Stay Up’.
Inspired by the likes of Paramore, Daughter, Snow Patrol, Have Mercy, Lonely The Brave, American Football, Third Eye Blind, Poor Traits demonstrates the depth of their sound and pour their hearts out into their music.
The track is a melodic rock jam that grips you with the care-free drumming and cathartic vocals. ‘Stay Up’ feels like a slow burner but what Poor Traits have done is create an irresistible dancy beat
Speaking further, the band said: “Alex had a profound experience when she took MDMA for the first time, her perspective on life changed, she never knew she could feel this good.
“The song is about the one night and the mixed feelings about relationships she had going on at the time.”
The upcoming EP is due to drop in late 2020. In the meantime listen to ‘Stay Up’ below and leave an ICM Star Rating out of 10.
