Joan Teeth creates lo-fi indie rock with bedroom pop

Liverpudlian musician Joan Teeth shares his debut single which is rightly titled ‘The First Joan Teeth Song’.
By learning how to sing, play the drums, mix and master all by himself, Joan Teeth has also finished his debut five-track EP whilst suffering from Covid-induced boredom.
This single is a stunning first attempt from the young scouse. The tempo and melody is flamboyant lo-fi 90s indie rock as Joan’s vocals are ever so slightly hazy. On three minutes 27 seconds, the track breaks out into a saxophone solo showing off all the skills he’s learnt in a short space of time.
Speaking about the track, Joan Teeth said: “‘The First Joan Teeth Song’ is just me spitballing ideas about the value of how you spend your time and drugs and morality. I didn’t have a strong aim for that one as I just thought the song was just fun not being constricted by having to mean something.”
This a great start for someone who has just discovered his musical talents and we can’t wait to hear the EP. Listen below and leave your ICM Star Rating out of 10.
