Bash! return rejuvenated with sonic indie pop

Rejuvenated and back a new approach on their indie pop sound, Bash! Return with new single ‘So Brokenhearted’.

It’s the third release of singles that explores the all-consuming sadness of a particularly bad break-up.

‘So Brokenhearted’ is an iridescent slice of pop where vocalist Amanda Bashmakova melancholically asks the questions; “When was the last time that you fell in love?”

The Southampton-based five-piece follows on from previous singles ‘Lovely, Smart and Beautiful’ – an uplifting ode to being strong and ambitious – and ‘Favourite Things’, an infectious pop number exploring fakeness and frenemies.

A blend of jangling guitars and sparkling synths solidified the tracks’ statements of intent as it becomes clear why they have been drawing comparisons to the more recent sonic palette of Paramore.

Bash! are a five-piece pop band from Southampton, formed of Amanda Bashmakova (Vocals), Miles Hobbs (Bass), Joe Burgess (Guitar), Angus McIntyre (Drums) and John Burdfield (Keys). The quintet have been making music together since 2018 after being drawn together by the power of destiny, love of music and university.

Ready to dominate 2021 with their effervescent brand of saccharine pop with a punch, this one’s for fans of: LEGORacers (1999), Dungeons and Dragons, sweet treats, self-help books, orange juice (never from concentrate) – watch below.

April 18th saw the return of The Wombats to Glasgow for their two-night residential at the institution that is, The Barrowlands Ballroom. The Show began with the amazing support of Sports Team who really got the crowd riled up and ready for what was to come. Being in the pit during the support alone, gave a sense of how the night was shaping up, we were two songs in and it was already

ICM Film’s Best of 2017

Like it or not it’s that time of year again where we find ourselves looking back and looking forward. But what are your hopes for the future? Cutting back on the chocolate? Resisting the urge to call in sick whenever Netflix release a new original series? Well, here at ICM Film, we have been mulling over our favourites and this is what we’ve ended up with. 2017 hasn’t been without its stinkers, but on the whole, we’d say this has been a pretty great year film, no pressure 2018!
