Hybrid Kid

Indie rock trio Hybrid Kid return with a hook-filled single ‘Close Up’ whilst building up an underground cult following.

The south coast rockers, comprised of Danny (guitar/vocals), Tim (bass), and Mattia (drums), are a bunch of quirky ex art college students with a knack for energised indie tunes.

Their new single ‘Close Up’ is the band’s fifth single and a follow up on Hybrid Kid’s debut album ‘The Minor Escapes. The three-piece are inspired by the collective history of British music and the traditional three-minute song formula, as if Pavement and David Bowie met The Stooges and MC5 in a seaside town like Brighton.

The single is filled with luscious reverb and groovy rhythms that give it a classic rock edge. They’re offering kookie riffs and hooky choruses with a dynamic and experimental edge to this band of rock ’n’ roll travellers.

Hybrid Kid have also been playing for a number of years in various guises and places, including the US, where the band were based for a prolonged stint. Now back on home soil, appearances on Brighton’s Latest TV, The Roadee, airplay on Radio X, and many college radio stations worldwide have slowly built them an underground cult following worldwide.
