2018 Ones To Watch #4 – Blushes

Blushes

The best part about writing these articles is the number of opportunities we get to discover, meet, and talk to bands who we know will be huge. That’s what Ones To Watch is all about. One of the most exciting bands in this list are indie pop/rock four-piece Blushes.

2017 was good for Blushes, releasing their debut EP ‘Private Viewing’ which got press from the likes of BBC airtime, NME, and most importantly an Artist Spotlight from us here at ICM. They’re gaining traction slowly but so surely and the crowd that they’re attracting are becoming incredibly excited.

‘Private Viewing’ was an insane entrance for the Aylesbury group. Opening with psych/pop track ‘Blame it on the Weather’ I was totally enamoured with them, a long drawn out masterpiece similar to mixing Foals with Peace’s ‘1998 (Delicious)’. An emotional song perfectly blending the voices of Tiffany and Bradley to create a vocal soundscape unmatched in their field. Then comes upbeat pop banger ‘To The Bone’ which brings so much dancey happiness. ‘Private Viewing’ was on of my favourite EPs of 2017 and I’d wholeheartedly recommend a listen.

We had the pleasure of speaking to the group last year and photographing their gig at The Dublin Castle in Camden. Their performances are filled with energy and you can tell they adore what they do and totally rubs off on the audience. They attracted the biggest crowd of the night and were the loveliest people to speak to.

2018 holds huge things with a new single, ‘Honey’ coming January 12th and a gig to celebrate the next day at Le Club, Wendover (tickets here). Let’s be excited for one of the future biggest bands in the country.
