Vallies pour emotionally-driven alt rock into intricate melodies

Gold coast rockers Vallies candidly captivate nuance in their sound with the release of the band’s debut single ‘Anchor’.

The Australian quartet is an emotionally-driven artist with elements of modern stylistic post-rock pouring into the alt rock mix through indulgently intricate guitar-led melodies.

Vallies sought inspiration from the surrounding hinterlands they keep their music connectable and reachable thanks to vocalist Barty Charles.

‘Anchor’ is an earworm was born at sunnyside sound with the help of producer Troy Borg and mastering engineer Paul Blakey (Amy Shark – Adore).

Members Jay Hankey (bass), Zian Papp (guitar), and Tim Kasjan (drums & vox) had previously featured in gold coast band MNVR and had plenty of time to find their instrumental synergy before finding Barty who was previously lending his deft vocals to northern rivers band Antimata.

After forming in august 2019 united by their passion for jarring music with instrumentals which are just as expressive as the lyrics and vocals, they got to work on their debut single which was released on Boxing Day.

Vallies are currently taking part in Rockstock Riot in Brisbane on March 14th which includes 38 bands over three stages. It’s the first annual event of its kind so keep an eye out for who’s in the lineup.
