Twist Helix push the synth pop boundaries further

Synth-pop trio Twist Helix are back with their new effervescent single ‘Louder’ following the bands debut album.

Originally hailing from Alicante and Newcastle, Twist Helix are Bea Garcia, James Walker and Matthew Barron.

Since the LP’s release, the group’s intelligent, narrative driven synth-pop and relentless DIY work ethic has seen the band tour extensively across the UK and Garcia’s Spanish homeland and we can expect a second album in September.

The band’s debut album Ouseburn in 2018 was well-received and they’ve pushed the boundaries once more on ‘Louder’. It showcases Twist Helix’s unique ability to create synth-heavy soundscapes that feel beguilingly cutting edge.

Reminiscent of the likes of Depeche Mode and New Order, ‘Louder’ is a euphoric offering that fits perfectly with front woman Bea Garcia’s undeniably arresting vocals.

Talking about the single, the band elaborate: “Louder is about our frustrations with the industry. It’s our response to the pressure to always toe someone else’s line and to never speak out for fear of causing offence.

“This song goes out to anyone who has had to bite their tongue and put up with someone else’s conceited attitude…which is about 48 per cent of the country right now.”
