The Exits are rock and roll at heart with a modern electronic twist

The Exits

Brooklyn indie rockers The Exits bring fresh energy and attitude on their latest single ‘Press Repeat’.

The trio, comprised of Jared Schneider (guitar/lead vocals), Ryan Calabrese (drums/vocals), and Tom Harrison (bass), have a swaggering New York style in the vein of predecessors like The Strokes and The Velvet Underground. Coupled with a songwriting approach inspired by everything from American standards to beat poets and the rock and roll lineage from The Beatles to Nirvana.

‘Press Repeat’ is rock and roll at heart with catchy melodies and sweet jangly guitars. The Exits are defining modern songwriting. They bend your ear on their way to getting lodged in your brain, that solid groove is hard to resist.

The bands swagger is effortless, defined by modern songwriting and electro rock & roll set the tone with indefinable groove and rhythm.

Second single ‘Press Repeat’ lives up to its title with searing guitars and an infectious energy. “The chorus is about how you might see things differently were you able to replay events,” Schneider said.

Ryan added: “In the moment you may see things one way, but retrospectively you might see them in another light.

“It’s really a heartbreak song with a sweet melody and a nice groove.”

The Exits have been hard at work cutting their teeth with NYC shows at venues from Mercury Lounge to Bowery Electric to more intimate So Far Sounds showcases, and have more music on the way very soon.
