The Bugles are funky punk-rock with hint of blues

The Bugles

Five mates from across the country met at university to form The Bugles who have now started to release music.

Their sophomore single ‘Give Up’ is a funky punk-rock track with a hint of blues that have burst their music onto the scene.

Jack Blade – vocals, Tom Blade – vocals & guitar, Matt Newell – vocals & guitar, Sion Williams – bass and Mohsin Abbas – drums, met Matt Newell at University, forming deep bonds over the King Blues and “a love of fried chicken”.

Under their previous moniker ‘Deaf Poets’, they played their first and only gig in late 2015. It was only with the addition of drummer Mohsin in August 2018 that The Bugles really took shape. Since then an intense flurry of gigging, writing and recording has taken place, not to mention the capture of final Bugle Sion.

Keep your ears peeled this summer for their next two singles, with an EP also hitting stores in September. This is an exciting period for the band with 2 UK tours also in the works. They’re coming to a town near you and this bunch of livewires are not to be missed. As Touch FM presenter Liam Fox aptly put it: there is a “big future ahead for the Bugles”.
