Song Of The Week: Joy In A Small Wage – Asylums

This weeks song of the week has seen Asylum’s ‘Joy In A Small Wage’ hit our number one spot, and they bloody well deserves it!
South West Londoners ‘Asylums’ have been touching the scene since 2014 with singles such as ‘Wet Dream Fanzine’ and ‘The Death of Television’ and just haven’t been appreciated enough yet. Which is heart-breaking if you’re a big fan like I’ve just become.

After hearing them showcase this weeks song of the week at Glastonbury last weekend, the band surely have it – Whatever “it” might be. Since 2014, I feel like the band have been discovering their true sound, and maybe they’ve nailed it with this song! The catchy chorus with a continuous bass line that’ll just make you eat your heart out is something I could listen to all day. They definitely share a likeness with Catfish and the Bottlemen and a swirl of late 90’s rock with a little dash of punk-ness.

There is no telling where this band could be this time next year, so watch their space, follow them on social media and check out their Spotify! Congrats Asylums!
