SINKA

Hard-hitting rock trio SINKA release their self-released debut EP ‘F.W.Y.K’ showcasing their various styles and energy.

Following on from their 2020 singles ‘See What I See’ and ‘Cause Effect’, Watford-based band; Matt Smith (bass), Shaun Sewell-Sears (vocals/guitar) & Jack Wright (drums) have been receiving great reaction from their releases.

Their Royal Blood and You Me At Six inspired alt rock tunes show no shortage of huge riffs here, and the momentous drums coupled with the crushing bass form the perfect springboard for the contrasting vocals to soar from. In four tracks we get to hear several facets of the SINKA’s music scope, done with a distinct flair that sets them apart in the sea of oversaturated noise.

Panning between heavy melodic rock and softer rock ballads, each track sets a new dynamic and vibe which allows for a full listen without the need to voice “All these songs sound the damn same”.

With the release of ‘F.W.Y.K’ the band are showcasing several facets of their musical scope, with no-one genre taking principal over another. (Watch the music video for ‘A Place You’ve Never Been Known here)

In a recent interview the band says: “Some may just prefer to label us alt-rock because it’s easier that way. But our music is fluid… There’s no schematic to our sound. We like this uninhibited method of writing as it keeps it fresh for not only the listener but us as well.”

There is still much to come from SINKA and we look forward to seeing more of what they can do as time goes on. Listen to the EP below and leave your ICM Rating out of 10!
