Next year’s hottest band is going to be the Sheffield-based indie rock n roll quartet RedFaces. Just watch out now they have finished A-levels and are ready to commit to writing music and touring. RedFaces were joint headlines with local indie rock outfit Bonsai.
The young lads, Harry Lyon (Vocals/Guitar) Isaac White (Bass/ Backing Vocals) Andy Wynn (Guitar/Backing Vocals) Charlie Yapp (Drums) have sold out numerous Sheffield venues such as The Leadmill and O2 Academy. It wasn’t quite the sell-out show this time round but everyone certainly had a great time.
With melodic songs and tight vocal harmonies, backed with an upbeat rhythm, RedFaces have found themselves on at major festivals such as T in the Park, Tramlines and Y-Not Festival. Their live sound is incredible. Ferocious guitars and smashing drums RedFaces sound projected across the room like a fish swimming through water, it was perfect.
They had released their fantastic demo ‘Katie Come Home’ with legendary producer Alan Smyth (Pulp, Arctic Monkeys, Milburn). Grabbing this man’s talent certainly hasn’t hindered their progression within the music industry.
The guys still have their baby faces on since they played this BBC Introducing set below and have still kept the same look. Just Harry’s voice has aged and become clearer and softer sounding.
Be sure to check them out on Facebook and Twitter! Also, read their interview with us before their set!
