PREMIERE: By Devices – ‘Police The Police’

by devices

Birmingham rockers By Devices premiere their new venomous punk rock single ‘Police The Police’ on ICM.

Formed out of a passion for live music, the five-piece strive to create powerful melodic songs that get more than just your foot tapping. And oh boy, doesn’t ‘Police The Police’ do just that. It’s venomous and melodic, the guitar riffs are energetic and almost as if they’re angry and siren-like.

The song sounds catchy, unsurprisingly upbeat and is quite compelling. It feels like an attack on the police for the failures in protecting society – reaching out to human emotions. Throughout the track, the guitars remain absorbingly angular whilst feeding in plenty of energy to this palpably raw sign of the times.

It certainly may not be your typical mainstream but indie and rock vibes are sewn through every track they write. With influences of The Killers and Bloc Party and some good old classics like The Cure and The Smiths, By Devices try to mix sounds and genres to create a vibe that lends itself to live performance.
