Ones To Watch 2020: Only The Poets

Reading band Only The Poets are the 10th artist to feature in the ICM Ones To Watch series as we’re expecting a big year ahead for the band.

The indie pop-rock quartet toured twice in 2019 and released three incredible singles, including ‘Looking at You’ and ‘You Can Do Magic’, but seemed to have gone under the radar in terms of music coverage.

All that is likely to change when Only The Poets gradually announce their plans for the next 12 months. Sold-out shows and infectious pop-rock will keep the fans craving more.

Frontman Tommy said on Facebook just before their sold-out headline Scala, London, show just how thankful and grateful their support means to them.

It read: “We are completely independent. It’s just us four, our manager and our touring team. We have never had any Spotify or major radio support apart from introducing track of the week and a couple of playlists on Apple Music. This band has grown from the love and support you have all shown us, YOU have pushed this far, THANK YOU!

“It gets really hard sometimes, things this year have really tested us but touring, meeting you all and moments like Scala make it all worth it.”

“After two years of relentless touring and working incredibly hard we play our biggest ever headline show in London. If someone had told me we’d be playing a venue like Scala even six months ago I would have laughed.”

The unsigned band comprise of Tommy, Jared, Marcus and Roo and consists of delicate guitar tones and catchy pop elements.
