Here they are again. This time with the second track off their upcoming fourth album, ‘Beautiful People will ruin your life’. Their latest addition to their discography is ‘Turn’. The band had a cracking summer performing at the UK’s biggest festivals including the first ever Community Festival, delivering a huge set in the summer. The way The Wombats should be listened to, not only are the band impressive over recording but they shift into top gear when they are on stage and simply put on a party.
On a dreary winter’s day ‘Turn’ will instantly boost your mood, with the summery vibes which come hand in hand with the Merseyside collective. ‘Turn’ is a track dominated by synths, The Wombats have come along way since the days of ‘Let’s Dance to Joy Division’ and ‘Moving to New York’, two of the band’s most classic and well-known tracks which are dominated by a more indie-rock aura. Although their sound has come along way since their debut album, the boys have gone strength to strength to develop their sound and keep listeners engaged.
The narrative-esque nature of The Wombats songs is something which they will always be known for. Usually relating to heartbreak, relationships or just life in general. The lyrics are entirely relatable and the chorus is super catchy. Personally, I love this new track and it is going to be my summer sun in this ridiculously cold winter. It has given us a little bit more to gauge what the album is going to be like and it’s getting me more and more excited.
I can’t wait to see what the album is going to be like.
