Following their triumphant first live performance at O2 Academy Islington just days before the UK lockdown was enforced, London’s Modern Guilt have just released their debut single ‘Hoping For The Hoping’.
The driving rock anthem draws inspiration from Rock ‘n’ Roll, Blues and Garage Rock and was the first song the trio wrote together.
Having only formed in late 2019, Jaz (vocals/guitar), Andreas Podda (lead guitar) and Scott Thomson (drums) ) establishing the band’s writing and instrumentation through demo-ing from their home studio, before recruiting the talents of Glyn Evans (keys/organs) and Dan Williams (bass).
‘Hoping For The Hoping’ is a gritty track with typical catchy hooks and melodic swagger. Modern Guilt will get your head rocking and your feet stomping as their high-octane energy and electricity will certainly get the blood pumping.
Chartered by high-school authenticity, ‘Hoping For The Hoping’ has a modern jagger-esque whilst staying fresh in classic rock territory. It’s a swaggering falsetto-infused guitar anthem that’s sure to be played on heavy rotation.
On Facebook, the band said of the release: “This was the first song we wrote when we created the band, so it felt right to release first. Your warmth to the track has been incredible, and we really appreciate your support.
“Special thanks go to our producer Mikey Buckley, with whom his genius has taken that sound in our heads and delivered on this record.”
