Modern Age Music favourites The Velvet Hands have dropped new feel-good track ‘When This Is Over’, an ode to the light at the end of the lockdown tunnel, and a call for support to grassroots venues.

The Cornwall garage rockers explained: “After 13 weeks of lockdown it was a time for a change, a time to celebrate and raise a glass to the lifting of lockdown measures with a timely ode to the joys of getting around in.”

The new cut is an immediate sing-along summer favourite, with vocal hooks delivered with the hallmark swagger that earned them a Radio 1 album of the week for their debut record.

All proceeds from the release will be donated to the Music Venue Trust, with the band shouting across their social media: “The decision for all proceeds to go to the Music Venue Trust was an easy one.

“Protecting grassroots venues, pubs, and clubs is something we feel deeply passionate about, as they believe these places are the lifeblood of emerging talent, and if they don’t get the support they need the world would be a much colder place.”

They added in a call to arms on their social media: “We’ve spent more years in sweaty venues than we’d care to admit, together we can save them. You can donate HERE.”
