Rascalton

Glasgow’s Rascalton have released their first track of 2020 with socially relevant cut ‘Sign of the Times’, out now on 7 West Music.

The track is a short, fast-paced piece of scuzzed-out punk, taking aim at social issues and notably the rising use of food banks in their hometown and around the UK.

The Glasgow four-piece recorded the track last year but hadn’t progressed with a release until now.

Vocalist Jack Wyles told Punk Press: “In Glasgow right now especially, the numbers of food banks being used is just increasing constantly every year.

“So that was in my mind writing most of this, but some of the lyrics about being in shops and empty shelves and everything, you’ll see, seem to feel very current and very like what we’re all going through now, it’s really weird. Don’t know quite how we’ve done that!”
