Modern Age Music Song of the Day: Guru – ‘Roses’

Brighton quartet Guru have today shared new single ‘Roses’, marking the band’s first release of 2020.

Out via Permanent Creeps, the new cut is another pumped-up fizzing punk rock track with gripping lyrics delivered over a wall of fuzzed-out guitars and a rolling rhythm section. ‘Roses’ rises and falls across almost four minutes, building the angst-ridden energy the band have become noted for.

With support slots for Slaves, Lady Bird and Heavy Lungs already under their belts, Guru are fast building a reputation for a visceral live show. They are scheduled to support False Heads at Werkhaus, London on December 3rd.
