Melisandre’s Beaver create exciting and melodic punk rock

Melisandre's Beaver

Kent trio Melisandre’s Beaver return with their second single, ‘I’m Sorry Indy’ since the release of their debut album.

The DIY punk band have a passion for creating music their own way and are keen to push the corporate men who bullsh*t people around in the industry.

The single ‘I’m Sorry Indy’ is a high-octane banger. The two-minute 30-second track is intended as a simple, exciting, melodic punk song about the painfully bad film that is Indiana Jones – The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Melisandre’s Beaver love nothing more than writing songs about the things they love, and don’t love, and this is the latter. Although you could say it’s so bad it’s good…

The song lyrics are essentially a review of the film, full of Easter eggs about the ‘plot’. The band believe it’s their best single yet. Harmonies galore, easy listening, clever lyrics, guitar hooks, just a fun light hearted, tuneful song….with a few too many swear words “for the BBC to like it,” say the band.

Recorded at Magpie Studios in Ashford, produced and mixed by Charlie Creese and mastered by Pete Maher, the band have been writing and recording new material since James Nesbitt joined on vocals and drums in December 2018.

Daniel Drew and Sam McNamara begin what they call Beaver 2.0; ‘Brother’, the first single, was the start and Indy is the main course.

Talking about the music video, the band said: “The music video for the song was self-produced by recording a private viewing of the film in Dover Silver Screen cinema with the band and friends.

“The whole film is sped up into the length of the song, and what people actually said in the cinema pops up on the screen, picking apart the film alongside silly stats and other critiques. Three characters are the highlight of the video, played by the band – Mr Technicality, Captain Bullshit and Prof. Seymore Films, and they provide the best insights and jokes as the film and song roll on.”
