Melancholy Ray unleash infectious blend of garage rock-pop

Hurtling onto the scene with their silky blend of garage rock, Leeds newcomers Melancholy Ray announce themselves with raucous anthem ‘New Routine’.
Packed with fierce indie licks and layered in pop sensibilities, the alt-outfit’s newest effort marks their arrival within the city’s bustling circuit, having met at Leeds College of Music and become pals with fellow Yorkshire risers Eades and Far Caspian, whilst honing their live craft supporting acts including The Mysterines and Van Houten.
Speaking of their new release, the quartet revealed: “‘New Routine’ is a coming-of-age song about meeting someone significant in young adulthood, whilst wrestling with the good and bad sides of what it all means. It was produced by our friend and Eades member Dan Clifford-Smith and is best heard loud with a drink in hand!”
With a shedload of infectious material recorded and a live show ready to be unleashed, the thriving four-piece are primed to make their mark on the emerging indie landscape.
Melancholy Ray is Callum Fewell (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Aaron Bentley (lead guitar), Jack Guard (bass), Dan Clifford-Smith (drums), Gabe Holland (synth)
