Emerging Newcastle musician Martha Hill returned with her new single ‘Grilled Cheese’.

Since leaving home at 17, Martha has spent time busking around Europe before settling on Tyneside, forming a band and things have not stopped since.

From being tipped as BBC Introducing’s ones to watch act this year to a performance on Jools Holland, Martha Hill is on the rise.

This new single is the first from her upcoming EP ‘Summer Up North’ which is due in mid-September. ‘Grilled Cheese’ is about the dissection of a relationship. Daft arguments about food prep, bouncing off each other negatively, jealousy, but in the end, still believing things are going to get better.

Featuring lush rhythms and a soaring chorus, this indie rock number has all the potential to be a hit track. There are infectious melodies and a coherent backbeat; giving the single an anthemic edge.

The EP was recorded during lockdown on Zoom and Martha will be sharing a second single titled ‘Landslide’ at the end of the month.
