MAM Song of the Week – The Howlers ‘La Dolce Vita’

London desert-rockers The Howlers burst onto the scene last year with a string of live shows causing a stir in the capital, and have now released debut single ‘La Dolce Vita’, a song which they describe as “a pivotal moment in defining who we are and what we wanted to represent as a band”.

The track, out on These Bloody Thieves Records, is a wonderful medley of reverbed guitars, pumping drums, and a growling vocal from frontman Adam Young.

Of the song, the band explained: “You are who you are and why would you want to be anyone else? I think that’s important to convey,” the band continues. “Be who you were meant to be – don’t follow the crowd because it’s popular and gets you more likes on social media, because in reality, it means f*** all. Don’t force yourself to fit that mould just because it’s the easiest way to be happy, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.”

With support already garnered from Radio 1 and Radio X, the debut single is certainly a signal of intent from the three-piece.

The Howlers take on a UK tour this June & July in support of the single, including a set at the Modern Age Music stage at Tramlines fringe on July 19th. Grab tickets for all tour dates at www.thehowlers.co.uk
