MAM Song of the Week: la lune – ‘holding onto u’

la lune

la lune is the project of singer-songwriter and producer Olivia Judd, and was described by NME as “a beautiful blend of James Blake and the Japanese House”.

The 21 year-old, London-born Judd has been releasing music with a DIY ethos since she was 18, and has already garnered support from the likes of BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 6, NME, and Spotify, landing a spot on New Music Friday UK with her collaborative release, ‘Heartstop.’ la lune’s latest track, ‘holding onto u’, has already had mainstream airplay on BBC Radio 6 and more.

It is another catchy electro-pop track, with a soulful sound, and a beautifully haunting, hooky vocal.

With major festivals such as Isle of Wight, Boardmasters, the Great Escape, and 2000Trees under her belt, la lune is one of Modern Age Music’s ‘Ones to Watch’ in 2020, and plays a January showcase at 229 London on January 10th, with tickets available at www.modernagemusic.co.uk
