MAM Song of the Week: Charmides – ‘Cold Blooded Killer’

Charmides

Formed in 2018, London four-piece Charmides released a string of well-received demos online, before wiping the slate clean and focusing on new recordings in the second half of 2019.

The result is ‘Cold Blooded Killer’, which shows a development in the band and a steer towards a heavier sound. The track was described as ‘music to get the pulse racing’, and it’s hard to argue with that. It’s a fast-paced, riff-fuelled two and a half minutes of energy rock.

The band explained: “This track completely epitomises the loud and energetic nature of the music that we’re all about. We’ve continued to develop our sound and decided to delete all of our demos and start afresh. The heavier the better for us right now and we think that comes across in our new music!”

Charmides make their Manchester debut on November 20th, playing Jimmy’s with Dirty Orange and Rosellas. Tickets at www.modernagemanagement.com/gigs and via Skiddle.
