Hotel the all-new Sydney sensation debuts single Loose Change'

Indie pop-rocker Hotel is the latest Sydney sensation

New wave synths and hip hop beats. Who would’ve thought these two go so well together?

Well for brand new Sydney-based artist Hotel (Andrew Tudehope), that’s exactly what he’s done on his debut single ‘Loose Change’.

His eclectic influences meld into one crunchy punk rap banger as Andrew lands flat on his feet on this anthem. It has a garage rock feel with rough guitars amped up to max and electronic beats providing a modern edge to the complete aesthetic.

Featuring childhood friends and established hip hop artists Obi III Terrors(featuring) and Billy Gunns (production) they bring Hotel’s single to life as their own parts find it landing in a new sonic space to make this a big hit.

‘Loose Change’ is all about coming to the realisation that the eternal search for more is only holding one back from enjoying what is in front of them.

Speaking about the track, Andrew said: “The song is my anger towards the fact that I was intoxicated for so long by the aromas of riches placed in front of me by media, and society.

“Money has never made the person. Money is just another thing we are tricked into thinking we need.

“I wanted to enjoy the moment more and stop worrying about the future and subsequently missing the present.”

He adds: “After I wrote the track, I wanted to get my friends involved with it. Not only because of their talents and what they could bring to the song but because I wanted to be able to look back when I am an old man with saggy old man skin and a fading memory be able to have this track as a memory of how much fun I could have when doing something productive with my best mates.”

Hotel drew his name for the project when he was working as a night porter in Sydney’s finest five star establishments. Whilst dressed in a purple jacket and unpolished high school shoes, he spent a lot of time mingling with the rich and famous by inviting himself to guest’s parties at the hotel. Lucky no managers were around to take notice!

If this debut track is anything to go by, Hotel is the latest sensation to come out of Sydney – keep your eyes peeled for more.

Banji announce debut album with new funky single ‘Cornflakes’

Utrecht quartet Banji have announced the release date of the debut album Freshcakes with the release of new single ‘Cornflakes’. Hotly-tipped for a successful 2022 following their ICM Awards Best International Act nomination, the band are harnessing the power of technicolour fun against a greyscale world to showcase their brand of indie-pop. New single ‘Cornflakes’ is a funky and quirky slice of pop with electronic patchwork-smaples and bouncing vocals.
