Southampton-born musician Laurel is an ICM Ones To Watch 2021 artist for taking her already stunning indie pop sound to a new level with striking synth pop. ..
The singer-songwriter gave us a taste of her new approach with her EP ‘Petrol Bloom’ last month (December 3rd) which also features her hit single ‘Scream Drive Faster’ which was nominated for last year’s ICM Awards Track of the Year.
Laurel has been tinkering away and breaking out of her shell which is what every great artist does. Adapt and move with the times. Laurel’s doing just that with pop sweetness on a synth-filled landscape.
In a post on Facebook she said she can’t wait to get a few more releases out, and who knows, we could get a follow up album to 2018’s DOGVIOLET.
It’s clear there has been a decisive shift in her music and as the rest of the year unfolds, we will undoubtedly be seeing Laurel become completely reinvigorated and revifiied.
